Built because I was fed up watching YouTube.

SaasPilot started as a personal fix. It's turning into something more.

I run several businesses. Every time I bought a new software tool — and I buy a lot of them — I'd end up on YouTube searching for a setup tutorial. And every time, the same thing: the video was made for someone else entirely. American SaaS companies. Enterprise IT teams. Developers who already know their way around an API. My situation — small, UK-based, service-led, and not particularly technical — was never the target audience. I'd watch 40 minutes of someone else's workflow and come away with maybe two useful minutes of it.

I started experimenting with prompting AI directly to generate context-aware setup instructions. The results were inconsistent — sometimes brilliant, sometimes useless depending on how I'd phrased things. But when I got it right, it was obviously better than anything I'd found on YouTube. Clear steps, written for my industry, my team size, my actual goal. Not someone else's. I started thinking: this isn't just a fix for me. Every small business owner I knew had the same frustration. They'd bought the tools, they just couldn't get them working without wading through content that wasn't written for them.

SaasPilot is the version of that experiment that actually works reliably. You describe your business once, pick a tool from the list, and you get a guide written for your specific situation in about 90 seconds. We've tested it with nine professionals across different industries. The feedback has been consistent: it's more useful than the official docs, faster than YouTube, and actually feels relevant to what you're trying to do.

Software should work for your business — not the other way around.

Most software documentation assumes you know what you want to achieve, have time to read 40-page manuals, and work in the context the vendor had in mind when they wrote the docs. Small businesses don't have that luxury. SaasPilot exists to close the gap between "I bought this tool" and "I'm actually using it."

The principles behind the product.

Context is everything

A setup guide for a 1-person consultancy should read completely differently to one written for a 50-person team. Generic instructions aren't neutral — they're actively misleading. They send you down the wrong path fast, and with confidence.

Speed matters more than perfection

Getting your tools working at 80% in an afternoon is worth more than getting them perfect in a week. SaasPilot is built to get you moving — not to deliver the definitive guide to every possible configuration. You can always optimise later. Right now, just get it running.

Small teams deserve better tooling

Most software tooling is built for enterprises and bolted onto small businesses as an afterthought. We're building the other way round — starting from small business reality and working outward. The questions we ask, the language we use, the tools we support — all of it is chosen with that in mind.
